How to resize images for web and email

Frequently asked questions

Will resizing lose quality?
Downscaling (making smaller) is nearly lossless. Upscaling (making bigger) can introduce blur since the tool does not add new pixel information.
Does this work on my phone?
Yes. The tool is fully responsive and works on iOS Safari, Android Chrome, and any modern mobile browser.
Can I preserve the aspect ratio?
Yes, toggle the "lock aspect ratio" option and only one dimension (width or height) is needed.
What is the difference between pixels and percentage?
Pixels give you an exact dimension (e.g. 800×600). Percentage scales proportionally (e.g. 50% of original).
Can I resize a batch of images at once?

What format is the resized file saved in?
The same format as the source file, so a JPG stays a JPG and a PNG stays a PNG. The new dimensions are appended to the file name, for example photo-800x600.jpg.
