How to resize images for web and email
Use Image Resize before uploading photos to a website, sending them by email, or preparing assets for a fixed layout. Resizing first usually gives better results than compressing an oversized image.
Steps
- Upload your image and enter the target width or height.
- Keep aspect ratio enabled unless you need an exact frame.
- Export the resized image and compress it if the file is still large.
Privacy note
The resize operation uses browser image APIs. Your original image is processed on your device.
Frequently asked questions
- Will resizing lose quality?
- Downscaling (making smaller) is nearly lossless. Upscaling (making bigger) can introduce blur since the tool does not add new pixel information.
- Does this work on my phone?
- Yes. The tool is fully responsive and works on iOS Safari, Android Chrome, and any modern mobile browser.
- Can I preserve the aspect ratio?
- Yes, toggle the "lock aspect ratio" option and only one dimension (width or height) is needed.
- What is the difference between pixels and percentage?
- Pixels give you an exact dimension (e.g. 800×600). Percentage scales proportionally (e.g. 50% of original).
