Does the on-screen preview limit the resolution of the crop?
No. The canvas preview is scaled down to fit your window, but the crop is applied to the full-resolution original, so a crop of a 6000px photo keeps its original pixel density.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. The image is drawn to a canvas element in your browser and the cropped result is created as a local blob. Nothing is sent anywhere.
